Introduction This essay is going to look at the principles governing trading between the WTO member states and their repercussions on human rights. This principles have a two way repercussion on human rights: on the one hand they tend to promote certain fundamental human rights; and on the other hand, they tend to undermine fundamental human rights. Article XX of the GATT is one good example. It empowers member states of the WTO to raise barriers to trade and discriminate against member states where such is necessary to protect human, animal or plant health. The state in however taking such a measure must do it in a manner that is as less trade-restrictive as possible. The essay will show how fundamental human rights such as the right to health is violated because a state is trying to adopt measures which are as less trade restrictive as possible. Principles that Promote Trade The objective of the WTO is to guarantee free and fair trade (equal access to markets) through the integration of markets and the trading system (qualitative dimension) on the one hand; and the elimination of quantitative restrictions (quantitative dimension) on the other. French Introductions, or Les Présentations

When you meet French speakers, you need to know how to introduce yourself and what to say when you are introduced.  French can be a bit tricky when introducing yourself or others depending on whether you know the person to whom you are making the introduction(s) or even if you have had any contact with the person. In French, those circumstances all require different introductions. Basic Introductions French uses the verb  se prà ©senter, not  introduire,  meaning to introduce something into something else, which translates into English as to insert. The most basic introduction in French, then, would be: Je me prà ©sente. Let me introduce myself. Using s’appeler is the common way of introducing yourself in French. Don’t think of it as â€Å"to name oneself† because it will only confuse you. Think of it in the context of introducing your name to someone, and link the French words to that context instead of applying a literal translation, as in: Je m​appelle...   My name is... Use je suis with people who already know your name, such as those  you have already talked to on the phone or by mail but never met in person, as in: Je suis...   I am... If you dont know the person or have never spoken to him on the phone or contacted him by email or  mail, use  je m’appelle,  as noted previously. Introducing by Name There are also distinctions between formal and informal introductions, as well as singular versus plural introductions, as noted in the tables in this and the subsequent section. I am doing this because I run about 40 to 60 miles per week, and my family has a history of health problems. For instance, my grandfather suffered a heart attack, and he also hadcancer when he was about the age of 50. Furthermore, my grandfather, on my dads side of thefamily, has also had triple bi-pass heart surgery from a heart attack he has had recently.Here, I present information from some sources that talk about the affects that runninghas on reducing health risks. My sources agree that running, and some other aerobic exercises,reduce the risk of: Diabetes, diverticular disease, heart decease, several types of cancer, andeven common sicknesses like a cold. One source agrees that running reduces the risk of diabetes. Jim Harmon writes, inSports Illustrated, about Bruce Leonard, a marathoner with a masters degree in public health. Bruce Leonard went to study the Zuni Indian tribe. This tribe has had a bad history of diabetesuntil they started to run. Leonard said, After the Zuni tribe started running, many Zuni were ableto reduce or eliminate their diabetes medication. She says, The greatest increase in protection was betweenthose men who were sedentary and those who had some activity.(48)Another source I found says that running can help prevent many types of cancer. In thearticle Running for your life, Doctor Leonard Cohen talks about how running helps reduce colon,breast, cervical, uterine, and ovarian cancer. Cohen says A growing body of evidence suggestthat physical activity reduces the risk of cancer, particularly colon and breast cancer.(23)Overall, my sources state that even though running isnt a cure, it is definitely apreventive measure for many health problems. They all agree that running can do no harm, andthere are many positive aspects. After doing this research, I am going to continue running or atleast some king of aerobic exercise, hoping that it will prevent me from following in mygrandparents footsteps.
